Homebound Health Service, Inc. is a home health agency located in the Back Mountain area, licensed by the state of PA to provide skilled nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy, nurses aides, and medical social worker services to residents of Luzerne County and surrounding areas.  We tailor these services based on the needs of our patients and under the direction of their physicians.  Services are provided without regard to race, sex, age, religion, handicap or national origin.

How Do I Receive Service?

Services are usually ordered by the physician.  You, however, may request your physician to refer HOMEBOUND HEALTH SERVICES, INC. upon discharge from the hospital, upon relapse of an illness or following an office visit if further monitoring is required.  Or simply call our office for further information at 570-696-4041.  Our RN Supervisor will make the necessary arrangements with your doctor.  After receiving a referral, a member of our professional staff will be at your home withing 24 hours.

HOMEBOUND HEALTH SERVICES, INC. bills Medicare, VA or private health insurance companies for services rendered.

Bonnie Kester Stachnik, R.N., B.S.N.

Bonnie is the founder and owner of Homebound Health Services, Inc.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from College Misericordia in the mid 80's.  She specialized in Labor & Delivery, then Post Surgical Nursing while living in Sarasota, FL for several years.  After moving back to PA in the late 80's, she worked for a large home health agency but after about a year there she decided to open her own business, with more focus on the quality of care rather than the quantity of visits.

Colby is our Nursing Supervisor.  She received her Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Cardiac Rehabilitation, and later an Associate's Degree in Nursing.  For ten years she worked as a telemetry nurse at Regional Hospital in Scranton, then as a Supervising Nurse for three more years.  Colby decided to venture into home health and she has been enjoying working with patients and their families in their home environment.

Mindy Saracino, R.N.

Mindy is a Registered Nurse who joined the agency about three years ago.  She holds a Bachelor of Sciense degree in Healthcare Administration from Bloomsburg University and an RN from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Bethlehem, PA.  She had worked at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA and at Southern Maryland Hospital while living in the DC area.  After moving back to Pennsylvania, Mindy switched to home nursing first for the flexibility it provided to a young mother with three children but she soon came to love the job and the unique challenges that come with it.

Karen has been a Registered Nurse with over 26 years of experience in home health.  She graduated from the University of Scranton with a bachelor degree in Nursing in 1992.

Karen has also held positions as an RN Supervisor and a Case Manager.

Lisa is one of our Physical Therapists.  She graduated from the University of Scranton with a BS Degree in Physical Therapy.

Lisa has over 20 years experience in the treatment of patients with a variety of diagnosis including stroke, brain injury, limb amputation, joint arthroplasty, various neurological disorders and cardiovascular diseases.   She is passionate about restoring her patients' mobility to their fullest potential.

Ann received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from College Misericordia.  She has worked as a nurse for Hospital for Mercy and later for Geisinger South, as well as a physician's office.   For the last 12 years, Ann has been enjoying working as a home health nurse.
